No Apology Needed
Learning to Forgive as God Does

Product Description

Nathan R. Byrd was inspired to write No Apology Needed: Learning to Forgive as God Does during Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement and forgiveness, in 2012. As he began to research the Jewish perspective of the holiday, he realized that neither Adam nor Eve ever apologized to God for their sin, yet they were forgiven immediately. Byrd offers a new perspective on the concept of forgiveness, with the goal of transforming lives and communities. Exploring the Jewish roots for the Christian faith, he suggests that the practice of Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, can offer Christians a rhythm for forgiveness that will have a positive impact on their whole life. By learning to forgive as God does, without needing any apology from those who have wronged us, we can unlock the keys to healing and healthy relationships. Looking at ancient biblical passages in a new light, Byrd reveals what we have been missing about the teachings of Jesus and the character of our God, as seen in the stories of Adam and Eve, Joseph and his brothers, and King Saul and David. In doing so, Byrd offers incredible insights into how we view relationships and the necessity of adopting a posture of forgiveness, regardless of the circumstances.

About Nathan Byrd

Nathan R. Byrd has been in ministry for over thirty years. He has spent eighteen of those years as an evangelist and fifteen years as the Senior Pastor of The Worship Center of St. Albans. A native of New York, he presently leads The Worship Center-NYC, which focuses on serving church leaders and serious Christians. At the age of fourteen, Nathan began attending the Peoples Baptist Church, where his brother, the Rev. Daniel H. Byrd, started his pastoral ministry. There, Nathan served in a variety of capacities, from custodian to minister. Once licensed to the gospel ministry in 1979, he served as an evangelist and assistant minister to his brother. In 1986, Nathan was ordained in the Baptist denomination. Two years later, he formed Jesus Makes the Difference Crusade Ministry (JMDCM) and began holding evangelistic meetings throughout the New York City area. JMDCM was instrumental in leading hundreds of people to Christ over a seven-year period. The ministry also launched several young adults into gospel ministry. In addition, JMDCM brought together over twenty-five churches across denominational lines for a week-long Harlem crusade in 1991. In 2005, Nathan launched "The Issachar Gathering," dedicated to asking the church "What now?" and "What next?" And in 2012, he started offering a monthly service dedicated to helping Christian leaders. Nathan is also the author of The Future of Worship, For These Reasons Shall a Man Leave his Father and Mother and Cleave to his Wife, and From the Desk of the Pastor (forthcoming). He is also the author of the Biblical Economics Seminars. He is a former professor of the Bethel Bible Institute in Jamaica, New York, and the Manhattan Bible Institute. Prior to entering the ministry, he was employed in finance at various brokerages and banking firms on Wall Street from 1979 through 1999. Nathan preaches nearly every Saturday at The Worship Center-NYC, a growing, diverse, and active Christian community. During any given year, Nathan speaks to thousands of people around the world, preaching and facilitating leadership and ministry conferences. He has ministered in the Caribbean, Canada, Great Britain, South Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, India, Colombia, and Mexico. His ministry also supports orphanages in India and Thailand. Learn more about Nathans ministry at www.jesusmakesthedifference.com.
